Nidia Álvarez-Nguyen is a distinguished multimedia artist and creative visionary with deep Afro-Cuban and Lakota Sioux heritage. Transitioning from a successful career as a professional runway and print ad model, Nidia has since become a celebrated photographer, curator, and creative director, known for her ability to blend art and history and infuse her rich heritage into her work. Passionate about collaboration, she thrives on partnering with fellow artists and designers, always pushing the boundaries of creativity and community.

As the founder of Nidia & Co, Nidia has built a brand that embodies the perfect balance of high-end quality at an affordable price, while encouraging everyone to show up as their best and conquer it all—without being boxed in! Her campaigns are meticulously curated, with a strong commitment to keeping everything local—including the models—ensuring that each project is a true reflection of her community and values.

Nidia’s creativity and leadership shine through her directorial role in the Kailon FW ‘24 fashion show, a groundbreaking event featuring handmade collections and collaborations with local artists. Not only did Nidia design an entire collection herself, but she also directed the runway show, establishing Kailon as an annual event and expanding it into a seasonal magazine. ‘Kailon’ supported by a dedicated board and team, showcases the art and fashion of local creators, highlighting the rich cultural scene of Tallahassee and beyond.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Nidia is the Public Information Director for The Equal Justice Project Investigative Group and PoliceAbuse.com. She is currently on the path to becoming an investigator, further showcasing her dedication to justice and advocacy. Wife to her high school sweetheart, Vietnamese immigrant Thai Nguyen, and mother to their son, Kai, Nidia brings her personal experiences into every aspect of her work, making Nidia & Co a genuine extension of her life’s artistry.
